Home and Garden: Creating a vegetable garden

Creating a Vegetable Garden4 There are few better favors you can do for your family than to encourage an interest in vegetable growing. Having a vegetable garden or plot means your children will be eating the freshest of vegetables, and plenty of them, too
Here is a few tips on how to create your very own vegetable garden. Start slow; start small. ... Build raised beds! ... Be creative. ... Play to your region. ... Build the beds now, so you can hit the ground running first thing next Spring. ... Use a barrier against weeds! ... Enrich the soil now. ... Protect your investment with mulch.
Starting a vegetable garden at home is an easy way to save money -- that $2 tomato plant can easily provide you with 10 pounds of fruit over the course of a season.
Planting a garden with vegetables also gives you the pleasure of savoring a delicious, sun-warmed tomato fresh from the garden. In almost every case, the flavor and texture of varieties you can grow far exceed the best grocery store produce.
Plus, growing vegetables can be fun. It's a great way to spend time with children or have a place to get away and spend time outdoors in the sun.
Learning what to plant in a garden with vegetables, and how to tend them for the best harvest, is probably easier than you think. If you plan it right, you can enjoy a beautiful garden full of the fruits of your labor -- without having to spend hours and hours tending it. Planting a garden that includes vegetables and flowers means you've combined natural companions, and that can turn a potential eyesore into an attractive landscape feature. Read on for more!

New Technology VS The Other Guy

Military technology: Laser weapons get real Silently, the drone aircraft glides above the arid terrain of New Mexico — until it suddenly pivots out of control and plummets to the ground.

Then a mortar round rises from its launcher, arcs high and begins to descend towards its target — only to flare and explode in mid-flight.
On the desert floor, on top of a big, sand-coloured truck, a cubic mechanism pivots and fires an invisible infrared beam to zap one target after another. This High Energy Laser Mobile Demonstrator (HEL MD) is a prototype laser weapon developed for the US Army by aerospace giant Boeing of Chicago, Illinois. Inside the truck, Boeing electrophysics engineer Stephanie Blount stares at the targets on her laptop's screen and directs the laser using a handheld game controller. “It has a very game-like feel,” she says.

That seems only natural: laser weapons are a staple of modern video games, and ray-guns of various sorts were common in science fiction for decades before the first reallife laser was demonstrated in 1960. But they are not a fantasy anymore. The Boeing prototype is just one of several such weapons developed in recent years in both the United States and Europe, largely thanks to the advent of relatively cheap, portable and robust lasers that generate their beams using optical fibres.

Amazon wants a chunk of airspace given over to delivery drones
Many may uttered a cynical “yeah, right” when Jeff Bezos unveiled his plan for a delivery drone in 2013, but subsequent test flights of the Prime Air machine, heavy investment in drone focused R&D centers, partnerships with NASA and others to build an air traffic control system for drones, and even appearances by Amazon executives in front of congressional committees show that the company isn’t just serious about flying books and other small items to customers, but utterly determined to see the plan through.

Opinions Section: My girlfriend is attracted to wome

While looking up all information on this now a days most common thing, i came across some difference of opinions. One guy stated; My girlfriend recently admitted she is attracted to women to certain degree. She said she occasionally struggles with the concept and isn't sure if she could act on it, even when presented with the opportunity. Our relationship is still in it's early stages but I know I want to be with her. She says she's not turned on at all by the prospect of being intimate but she finds the female body attractive. How can we work through it? The only answer he got was how old was she and had she had any homosexual experiences? Here is some statistics to think about, Approximately one in 100 American women and two in 100 American men identify as homosexual, with another four percent of Americans identifying as bisexual. Homosexuality is still a controversial topic in the United States, but polls and surveys regarding its moral acceptability or the legalization of same-sex marriage show an obvious trend towards acceptance and tolerance of the LGBT community among the American population.  Compared to UK, they actually double that, Just one in 100 people in the UK say they are gay or lesbian, according to statistics on sexuality published for the first time today.
A further one in every 200 people are bisexual, according to the data published by the Office for National Statistics
According to toady's hype on common relationship fixers, some say have a threesome, mix it up. While others say

Health Watch Foods for Healthier Hair: How to get healthier hair

Starting a hair-healthy diet today will mean a more gorgeous head of hair within six months to a year, depending on how fast your hair grows. Eat these foods for shiny, lustrous locks
Eggs
Eggs are rich in biotin, a B vitamin essential for hair growth and overall scalp health. People ask me about biotin for hair health all the time — usually, they've heard about it on a shampoo commercial or read a magazine article that recommended biotin supplements. Because our bodies make their own biotin in the intestines, and it is plentiful in many common foods, deficiency is very rare. But in those few cases in which people are very ill and don't have use of their intestines, biotin deficiency causes hair loss. So yes, biotin is important for hair health, but you don't need to take supplements. Just eat a balanced diet that includes some high-biotin foods: eggs, peanuts, almonds, wheat bran, salmon, avocados, and low-fat cheese

 Pork Tenderloin
Tasty pork tenderloin is rich in B vitamins — folate, B6, and B12. These vitamins are involved in the creation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen and nutrients to all body cells, including those of the scalp, follicles, and growing hair. Without enough B vitamins, the cells can starve, causing shedding, slow growth, or weak hair, which is prone to breaking. Not a fan of pork? Wild salmon (fresh or canned), shellfish, beans, chicken, oatmeal, eggs, peanut butter, fat-free and low-fat dairy foods, and fortified whole-grain cereals are also good sources of B vitamins.

Opinion Section Dating Online

Every day, millions of single adults, worldwide, visit an online dating site. Many are lucky, finding life-long love or at least some exciting escapades. Others are not so lucky. The industry—eHarmony, Match, OkCupid, and a thousand other online dating sites—wants singles and the general public to believe that seeking a partner through their site is not just an alternative way to traditional venues for finding a partner, but a superior way. Is it?
With our colleagues Paul Eastwick, Benjamin Karney, and Harry Reis, we recently published a book-length article in the journal Psychological Science in the Public Interest that examines this question and evaluates online dating from a scientific perspective. One of our conclusions is that the advent and popularity of online dating are terrific developments for singles, especially insofar as they allow singles to meet potential partners they otherwise wouldn’t have met. We also conclude, however, that online dating is not better than conventional offline dating in most respects, and that it is worse is some respects.
Beginning with online dating’s strengths: As the stigma of dating online has diminished over the past 15 years, increasing numbers of singles have met romantic partners online. Indeed, in the U.S., about 1 in 5 new relationships begins online. Of course, many of the people in these relationships would have met somebody offline, but some would still be single and searching. Indeed, the people who are most likely to benefit from online dating are precisely those who would find it difficult to meet others through more conventional methods, such as at work, through a hobby, or through a friend.
For example, online dating is especially helpful for people who have recently moved to a new city and lack an established friendship network, who possess a minority sexual orientation, or who are sufficiently committed to other activities, such as work or childrearing, that they can’t find the time to attend events with other singles.
It’s these strengths that make the online dating industry’s weaknesses so disappointing. We’ll focus on two of the major weaknesses here: the overdependence on profile browsing and the overheated emphasis on “matching algorithms.

Ever since Match.com launched in 1995, the industry has been built around profile browsing. Singles browse profiles when considering whether to join a given site, when considering whom to contact on the site, when turning back to the site after a bad date, and so forth. Always, always, it’s the profile.
What’s the problem with that, you might ask? Sure, profile browsing is imperfect, but can’t singles get a pretty good sense of whether they’d be compatible with a potential partner based on that person’s profile? The answer is simple: No, they cannot.
A series of studies spearheaded by our co-author Paul Eastwick has shown that people lack insight regarding which characteristics in a potential partner will inspire or undermine their attraction to him or her (see here, here, and here ). As such, singles think they’re making sensible decisions about who’s compatible with them when they’re browsing profiles, but they can’t get an accurate sense of their romantic compatibility until they’ve met the person face-to-face (or perhaps via webcam; the jury is still out on richer forms of computer-mediated communication). Consequently, it’s unlikely that singles will make better decisions if they browse profiles for 20 hours rather than 20 minutes.
The straightforward solution to this problem is for online dating sites to provide singles with the profiles of only a handful of potential partners rather than the hundreds or thousands of profiles that many sites provide. But how should dating sites limit the pool?
Here we arrive at the second major weakness of online dating: the available evidence suggests that the mathematical algorithms at matching sites are negligibly better than matching people at random (within basic demographic constraints, such as age, gender, and education). Ever since eHarmony.com, the first algorithm-based matching site, launched in 2000, sites such as Chemistry.com, PerfectMatch.com, GenePartner.com, and FindYourFaceMate.com have claimed that they have developed a sophisticated matching algorithm that can find singles a uniquely compatible mate.
These claims are not supported by any credible evidence. In our article, we extensively reviewed the procedures such sites use to build their algorithms, the (meager and unconvincing) evidence they have presented in support of their algorithm’s accuracy, and whether the principles underlying the algorithms are sensible. To be sure, the exact details of the algorithm cannot be evaluated because the dating sites have not yet allowed their claims to be vetted by the scientific community (eHarmony, for example, likes to talk about its “secret sauce”), but much information relevant to the algorithms is in the public domain, even if the algorithms themselves are not.

Evolution May Explain Why Men Like Curvy Bottom

These curvaceous gals would have had an evolutionary advantage, in that they appeared able to bear multiple children easily, the researchers said.
"This spinal structure would have enabled pregnant women to balance their weight over the hips," said study leader David Lewis, a UT Austin alumnus and now a psychologist at Bilkent University in Turkey.
"These women would have been more effective at foraging during pregnancy and less likely to suffer spinal injuries," he said in a UT Austin news release. "In turn, men who preferred these women would have had mates who were better able to provide for fetus and offspring, and who would have been able to carry out multiple pregnancies without injury."
This preference evolved over thousands of years and is likely to persist for a long time, the researchers noted.
Their conclusions came from a two-part study in which 100 men were asked to look at images of women and rate their attractiveness. Women with a 45.5-degree in the lower back were rated as most appealing. The researchers next determined from a group of 200 men that guys preferred this degree of lower back curvature regardless of a woman's butt size

Disciples Of Christ Church Threatens A Boycott Over New Indiana Bill That Allows LGBT Discrimination

ISIS Ideology Is Not True To Islam, And These Imams Are Fighting Back
Using a twisted version of Islam, the militant group Islamic State, or ISIS, has pushed online campaigns to attract youth to its bloody crusade in Syria and Iraq. Now a group of British imams and scholars is looking to "reclaim the Internet" with a new magazine aimed at shifting the conversation and spreading a message of truth.

Haqiqah, meaning "the truth" or "the reality" in Arabic, is a digital magazine created by Islamic scholars with the purpose of educating young people about the realities of extremism, according to its backers at Imams Online. The goal, they say, is to "drown out" the voices perpetuating violence.

of stalking cases appear in the context of domestic violence and these are the cases that most often result in serious bodily injury or death.
Stalking by an ex-spouse is a serious crime and one where law enforcement officials should become involved. If you have a spouse, who is stalking you research the subject; learn your state’s stalking laws and what resources are available. Your first step however, should alw
ays be contacting your local police department.

Behaviors That Constitute Stalking:
⦁ Receiving unwanted phone calls.
⦁ Receiving unsolicited or unwanted letters or e-mails.
⦁ Someone following or spying on you.
⦁ Someone showing up at places without a legitimate reason.
⦁ Someone waiting for you in places they are not welcome.
⦁ Someone leaving you unwanted items, presents, or flowers.
⦁ Someone posting information or spreading rumors about you.
⦁ Someone refusing to leave you alone after you request they do so.
Individually these behaviors do not constitute stalking. Collectively and done consistently these behaviors constitute criminal stalking and are punishable by law. Being divorced or separated puts you at a higher risk for stalking. Thirty-Four out of 1,000 divorced individuals are victims of an ex-spouse’s stalking and threatening behavior.
If your ex-spouse is continually behaving in a manner that causes you fear, or interferes with your ability to live peacefully you are a victim of stalking. Take their behavior seriously!

Home and Garden : Shop For Bed Sheet

How To Shop for the Softest Sheets Whether one settles into a bed for warmth to escape howling winter winds or desires a set of cool, breathable sheets to escape a scorching summer sun, the perfect bed sheets are paramount to a restful night of sleep. While most can be easily persuaded to swing for a more luxurious set of sheets, the labeling and thread count terminology in sheet shopping can be misleading.
Don’t rely merely on the "thread count" factor of a sheet set. Thread count is defined as the number of threads, horizontally and vertically, per square inch of a fabric. Shoppers should realize that there are many factors that affect a sheet’s thread count.
Check the ply of the fabric used in the sheets. The ply of the fabric is used to describe how many threads are wrapped together into one single thread. Singleply fabrics use threads on their own as opposed to double-ply fabrics that are made up of two pieces of thread twisted together. So technically, a thread count of 800 could be made of only 400 double-ply threads or could contain 800 single-ply threads.

If you are looking for a heavier, more durable sheet set, choose fabric with double-ply fabric. Single-ply fabric sheets are going to appear thinner and more delicate.
Recognize the different types of cotton sheets. Egyptian cotton is praised for its breathability and is highly absorbent. Pima cotton, grown in the Southwest United States and in South America, is known to be long lasting and a staple in large households. Organic cotton -- grown without herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers -- will have the mark of United States government-approved certification on the package.
Know the weave you are after. For a silk-like cotton sheet, closely woven percale sheeting is the best option. Flannel cotton sheets, with a twill weave, maintain a raised surface that delivers a fluffy appearance along with an ultra soft and cozy feel. For some stretch in your sheets, the plain-stitch knitted jersey sheet would be your best bet. And for a more luxurious appearance, the sateen weave would be appropriate with its weave construction placing most of the threads on the surface.

Test it out before buying it. Most bedding retailers have some sort of sheet samples in their stores for customers to touch before purchasing them. The perfect set of sheets comes down to two factors: the way they look in your bedroom and how they feel against your skin, so don’t rely on the labeling to tell you how the sheets feel. Give them a feel for yourself. After all, you will be spending around one-third of every day inside of them.

Texas To Execute Arnold Prieto Over Screwdriver Attack AUSTIN, Texas, Jan 21 (Reuters) -

Texas on Wednesday executed a 41-year-old man convicted of stabbing three people to death with a screwdriver, including his great-uncle and great-aunt, in a San Antonio home robbery in 1993, a prison officials said.

Arnold Prieto died at 6:31 p.m. CST at the state's prison death chamber in Huntsville after receiving a lethal injection, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.
He was the 519th person executed in Texas since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976, the most of any state.

"There are no endings, only beginnings. Love y'all, see you soon," he said in his last word, according to the department.

Sarah Palin's Bizarre Iowa Speech Gets Thanks -- From The Democrats

Shortly after declaring that she's "seriously interested" in running for president in 2016, Sarah Palin delivered a confusing speech that was panned by many, even some on the right. Speaking at the Iowa Freedom Summit in Des Moines on Saturday, the former Alaska governor and one-time vice presidential candidate delivered a speech that John Fund of the National Review described as "meandering and often bizarre."
Here's an excerpt: "Things must change for our government. Look at it. It isn’t too big to fail. It’s too big to succeed! It's too big to succeed, so we can afford no retreads or nothing will change with the same people and same policies that got us into the status quo. Another Latin word, status quo, and it stands for, ‘Man, the middle-class everyday Americans are really gettin’ taken for a ride.’ That's status quo, and GOP leaders, by the way, y'know the man can only ride ya when your back is bent. So strengthen it. Then the man can't ride ya, America won't be taken for a ride, because so much is at stake and we can't afford politicians playing games like nothing more is at stake than, oh, maybe just the next standing of theirs in the next election."

House Passes Anti-Abortion Bill On Anniversary Of Roe v. Wade On the 42nd anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark abortion rights decision in Roe v. Wade, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 242-179 to pass a bill that would codify a ban on federal funding for abortions. The bill would prevent women from having their abortions covered by Medicaid; restrict a woman's ability to buy private insurance plans that include abortion coverage; and deny small businesses a tax credit, which they currently receive through the Affordable Care Act, if they include abortion care in their health insurance plans. It would also prevent the District of Columbia from using its own local funds to subsidize abortion care.

Democrats tried to use a procedural move Thursday to sink the bill or send it back to committee. Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) submitted a motion to recommit the bill, asking that it be amended to "prohibit any violation of the medical privacy of a woman regarding her personal choice of health insurance coverage, including victims of rape and incest." But Republicans rejected the motion and passed the bill.

U.S. Contractor Awarded More Than $1 Billion Is Suspended Over 'Serious Misconduct'
WASHINGTON, Jan 26 (Reuters) - The United States said on Monday it had suspended International Relief and Development, a non-profit aid contractor which won major U.S. contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan, after finding "serious misconduct" involving funding.

"The agency's review revealed serious misconduct in IRD's performance, management, internal controls and present responsibility," the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the United States' premier aid agency, said in a statement.

Koch-Backed Network Aims To Spend Nearly $1 Billion On 2016 Elections WASHINGTON, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Conservative political advocacy groups supported by the billionaire Koch brothers plan to spend $889 million in the 2016 U.S. elections, more than double what they raised in 2012, the Washington Post reported on Monday.

The newspaper said the goal was announced to donors at a weekend meeting in Rancho Mirage, California, hosted by Freedom Partners, a business lobby at the center of the Koch brothers' political operation. The Post cited a person who attended the gathering.

Senate Democrats Join GOP Attack On Financial and Environmental Regulation WASHINGTON -- Four Senate Democrats are working with Republicans to help the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other GOP-affiliated lobbying groups undermine financial and environmental regulations. A new bill would significantly change the way government agencies write rules, weighing regulators down with new costs and opening the door to a swarm of legal challenges from corporate interests. Although the legislation would apply to all independent federal regulatory agencies, bank watchdogs have found it particularly alarming in light of Wall Street's ongoing success in overruling new financial standards in court.
"This would create dozens of new requirements that are nearly impossible to carry out," said Marcus Stanley, policy director at Americans for Financial Reform, an advocacy organization

I spent the weekend wondering what I wanted to do…. My boyfriend loves foot ball. And so I put two and two together and there you go I thought how about a Superbowl Weekend!
This time around he thought, I of course was looking for the girls. Or at least the girl aspect of it. I started looking in the local papers, and a few un nameable came to mind. He said no long lines lots of food and lots of tvs.
The Super bowl opening starts in Glendale  with the first games opening up with the Seattle Sea Hawks and the New England Patriots. First game is due to kick off at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale Arizona.  Glendale was able to transform into a walking party day and night. In Glendale you can enjoy festivities at the Westgate Center. With 5 days of free concerts, 10 restraunts near by and of course Katy Perry performing.
If you like riding bikes then you can head over to downtown were Mayor Greg Stanton is peddling on the green cruisers past the Orpheum Theatre and down to the campus area.
I personally like seeing what's available around the whole valley so what we decided to go all around the valley.

Downtown phoenix has much going on with access available  and half the city blocks and most of city cape being shut down, you’ll have plenty to do. It was reporting that the third game of the season would  be played at the Phoenix University Stadium in Tempe. For the second season in a row, but only the third time in 21 seasons, the number one seed from each conference will meet in the league championship game. This will also be the first time in a decade that an NFL team will play in consecutive Super Bowl games, with the last such instance in 2004 and 2005, when the Patriots played in Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX, respectively. Super Bowl XLIX will be the Seahawks' second consecutive Super Bowl appearance, having defeated the Denver Broncos 43–8 in Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, while the New England Patriots will be returning for their eighth Super Bowl appearance, and their first since losing 21– 17 to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. With their appearance in Super Bowl XLIX, the New England Patriots will join the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers as one of the three teams that collectively share the record for most all-time Super Bowl appearances, as each has appeared in eight separate Super Bowls to date.
So you can see the excitement has been building for along time and been prepared for as well as the same.
Downtown Phoenix is being Hosted by Verizon . Being Verizon Superbowl central this is hat we found whats going down…..

THE KNITTED POLO

This 70's style stitch is a one of a kind. I like to call it a one size fits all style. This style is very versatile with different looks to match.   Knitted fabrics are divided into two basic types: warpknit fabrics such as tricot and weft-knit fabrics such as a handknit sweater. Weft-knit items have the drawback that they runwhen cut. Warp-knit fabrics are often used in lingerie.   A polo shirt, also known as a golf shirt and tennis shirt, is a form of shirt with a collar, a placket with typically two or three buttons, and an optional pocket. All three terms may be used interchangeably. Polo shirts are usually made of knitted cloth (rather than woven cloth), usually piqué cotton or, less commonly, silk, merino wool, or synthetic fibers. A dress-length version of the shirt is called a polo dress \ So put the two together and you got the look of home to school to park to mall.     Best place to get these simplistic designs is your local golf store. So while checking out the hotties golfie check out the polo t and see for your self.

My Girlfirend has a yeast infection…..

Yeast is a fungus that normally lives in the vagina in small numbers. A vaginal yeast infection means that too many yeast cells are growing in the vagina . These infections are very common. Although they can bother you a lot, they are not usually serious. And treatment is simple
A healthy vagina has many bacteria and a small number of yeast cells. The most common bacteria, Lactobacillus acidophilus, help keep other organisms—like the yeast—under control. When something happens to change the balance of these organisms, yeast can grow too much and cause symptoms. Taking antibioticssometimes causes this imbalance. The high estrogen levels caused bypregnancy or hormone therapy can also cause it. So can certain health problems, like….
A yeast infection causes itching or soreness in the vagina and sometimes causes pain or burning when you urinate or have sex. Some women also have a thick, clumpy, white discharge that has no odor and looks a little like cottage cheese.  diabetes or HIV infection.
If you have had a yeast infection before and can recognize the symptoms, and you aren't pregnant, you can treat yourself at home with medicines you can buy without a prescription. You can use anantifungal cream, or a suppository that you put into your vagina, or antifungal tablets that you swallow. If your symptoms are mild, you may want to wait to see if they clear up on their own. Yeast infections are common during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, don't use medicine for a yeast infection without talking to your doctor first.

Stretching those calfs…...The muscle that can get you

The foot and ankle region is a common site for running pain –after all, it's the first point of impact. Elastic, flexible calf muscles can soften the shock down below, helping prevent injuries such as plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis. These stretches are part of the Wharton's Performance Model, a strength and flexibility foundation-building method for runners. Stretch after every run: hold two seconds; repeat 10 times on each leg.
Gastrocnemius (outer calf): Sit with both legs straight. Loop a rope around the ball of one foot and grasp each end of the rope. Flex your foot back toward your ankle, toes toward your knee.

Soleus (inner calf): Sit with one leg straight and the other bent. Grasp the bottom of the foot on the bent leg. Keeping your heel on the ground, pull your foot toward your body as far as you can.
Achilles Tendon (attaches heel to calf): Sit with one leg straight and one bent. Bring your heel close to your buttocks. Keeping your heel on the ground, pull your foot toward your body.
Remember to drink plenty of water and have fun with exercising!

Straight Men More Prone to Jealousy Over Sexual Infidelity:

TUESDAY, Jan. 13, 2015 (HealthDay News) -- A woman may have the reputation of turning into a green-eyed monster when her man sleeps with someone else, but new research suggests a man gets even more jealous in the same scenario. In a poll of nearly 64,000 Americans, sexual infidelity was most upsetting to men in heterosexual relationships, said study author David Frederick, an assistant professor of psychology at Chapman University in Orange, Calif. "Men [in heterosexual couples] are more upset by sexual infidelity than women are," he said. "Women are more likely to be upset by emotional infidelity." For the study, Frederick defined sexual infidelity as a partner having sex with another person but not being in love with them. He defined emotional infidelity as a partner falling in love with someone else but not having sex with them.

The men and women in the study, aged 18 to 65, but mostly in their late 30s, answered an online poll in 2007. Participants identified themselves as heterosexual, gay, lesbian or bisexual. All were given a "what if" scenario. They were told to imagine their partner had strayed sexually or strayed emotionally, and to tell if they would be upset. Men in the heterosexual relationships really stood out from all the others, Frederick said, as they were the only group to be more upset by sexual infidelity than emotional betrayal. Frederick said researchers have debated for years whether men and women differ in their reactions to infidelity. Those who think that heterosexual men are most upset by sexual infidelity, as Frederick found, point to an evolutionary root for that rage.
According to that theory, men are more upset by sexual infidelity because they can't be sure a child their partner may later produce is theirs. Women are more upset by emotional infidelity, so the theory goes, because they would fear abandonment and loss of resources if the partner funnels them to the new love. They don't, of course, have to wonder about a child being theirs. In the study, 54 percent of the heterosexual men were most upset by sexual infidelity, but only 35 percent of the heterosexual women were. Among heterosexual women, 65 percent said they would be most upset by emotional infidelity, compared to 46 percent of the heterosexual men. For all other groups, Frederick found, only about 30 percent said sexual infidelity would be most upsetting.

Alaska Airlines now offers in-flight entertainment straight to your device
Alaska Airlines is upping its in-flight entertainment game. The Seattle-based company this week began rolling out a new service called Beyond Entertainment, which gives travelers flying on Alaska’s 737 aircraft access to movies, TV shows, and other content on their own WiFi-enabled devices. Once a plane reaches 10,000 feet, customers can watch the digital content on their phone, tablet, or laptop with the Gogo Video Player, which is available from the server on-board or can be downloaded prior to takeoff. Content is updated monthly and will be free until February, when Alaska will charge for premium movies and TV shows starting at $1.99. There will still be 30 hours of short videos available at no charge. Alaska noted that customers will still be able to rent a portable video player starting at $8 per flight. This FAQ provides more information on Beyond Entertainment — which will be available on almost every 737 plane by April 2015 — including Alaska’s explanation for the difference between “entertainment direct to customer devices and our current Inflight Entertainment Players”:

Sony hackers threaten 9/11-style attacks at opening of 'The Interview'
The hackers behind a devastating attack on Sony are threatening an "11th of September"-style attack on movie theaters showing an upcoming film that pokes fun at North Korea's communist dictatorship, prompting the movie's stars to cancel media appearances. In a message emailed to various reporters and accompanying the latest in a series of leaks that have included employee emails, health and financial information, the hackers who call themselves

reads the message posted on Tuesday. “Soon all the world will see what an awful movie Sony Pictures Entertainment has made. The world will be full of fear.”

5 technologies that will make sense in 2015

New technology is a wonderful thing, but waiting to get it into your hands can be maddening. It's all very well when Nikon launches a compact camera or Sony a new version of the PSP, but take it beyond the realm of consumer hardware and that lag time can go on forever. So, while we're spending time during Future Week looking at things that have barely been thought of and things that never made it, today is the turn of the technologies still waiting for their moment in the sun. Here's our take on five that have arrived today, but will probably only have made the splash they meant to by 2015.   WiMAX

What's the hold up? No product support Worth the wait? Probably The idea of WiMax has been around for so long now, that it almost feels like a backward concept. Kicking around as a telecommunications standard since 2001, Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access - as its mum might refer to it when it's done something wrong - offers excellent wireless internet connection

speeds as well as fantastically broad "hot-spot" coverage. The idea is that, simply speaking, WiMAX radio towers can work in two ways. The first is to offer large-scale public access with a radius of up to 30 miles to those on the go, and the second is to transfer the signal onto and back from other towers and to homes instead of having to use fibre or copper hard wired cables. It's a good idea for a number of situations, but the problems have been finalising the standards, building these towers and company's coming out with devices of a decent price point that support WiMAX too. With the launch of a couple of phones and laptops here and there, the products are starting to come and there are already sites and plans for a number of the major telecommunications companies in the US, the UK and all over the world

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a tablet that also functions like a laptop with an integrated kickstand and an optional click-in keyboard. The Surface Pro 3 has a 12" screen that provides a 2160x1440 resolution, a fourth-generation Intel Core processor (available in i3, i5 or i7), and provides up to nine hours of battery life while Web browsing. The tablet runs the Windows 8.1 operating system and is capable of running the full Microsoft Office Suite. Multitasking is also a breeze, as the tablet allows you to snap up to three apps or desktop programs side by side. Microsoft has also recently released a new docking station for the Surface Pro 3. When you pair the tablet with the docking station, it really puts Surface Pro 3 in a league of its own because it also allows this powerful tablet to replace your desktop PC. Costs: Starts at $799

Pets French Bulldog
What They’re Like: French bulldogs are clowns disguised as lapdogs that enjoy playing with their humans. These dogs are often loyal, easygoing, sociable, and low-maintenance -- making them great apartment dogs. But they do get along better with adults than children. And they might bark like crazy when a stranger comes to the door. Because French bulldogs are indoor dogs, they usually don’t need much exercise; short walks will do the trick. Some French bulldogs are easy to train; others resist. Making training seem like a game helps. Appearance: French bulldogs are small, muscular dogs with short faces, dark eyes, and trademark “bat” ears. Their short, smooth coats come in combinations of fawn (light tan), brindle (fawn with soft stripes), and white. They top out at about 28 pounds. Grooming: French bulldogs do shed, but their smooth coats don’t require much grooming. You’ll need to clean your dog’s facial wrinkles regularly. Keep in Mind: French bulldogs sometimes snore. They can be stubborn. And they’re sensitive to extreme temperatures, which means you might need to turn on the air-conditioning in hot weather. Check with a vet about the potential for heatstroke, as well as eye and breathing problems

Business of Today Tomorrow

Z’s Greek 4026 E Indian School RdPhoenix, AZ 85073 Phone number (602) 955-7600

Pretty much as good as it gets for Greek food in the Valley.
I used to work at the Pita Jungle down the street from Z's. As some of you may know, Pita Jungle serves an array of "Mediterranean" food that I (and many others) pity. So, on my lunch breaks, rather than getting my employee discount at Pita Jungle, I'd drive a few block to Z's.
First off, I love that they have drive-through. It makes things much more convenient for me.
Secondly, their food is amazing. I always order their falafel platter, which comes with a small Greek salad, lemonpotatoes, rice, Greek Pitas, and five perfectly fluffy and delicious falafel balls all for $10.99 or something like that. I cannot express how delicious their falafels are. Compared to anywhere else I have gone to get Greek food in the valley, the falafel at Z's blows them out of the water. They have that perfect crunch on the outside, and are not over-cooked on the inside. They are not overpowered with garlic or parsley, and have a delicate blend of all of the flavors that falafel are supposed to have.

Their Greek salad is also exceptional. The ingredients are fresh, and to my surprise it comes smothered in feta cheese (another thing I love). But, the thing that really makes the salad is the salad dressing. It's a traditional Greek yogurt based dressing with a slight taste of lemon. The thing is, is that it's not overly pungent or sour like some Greek yogurt dressings are. It's creamy and smooth, and tastes wonderful.
All the other components of the meal, like the potatoes, the rice and the Greek pitas are all above-average quality as well. I've also ordered their crazy fries, which are so simple yet so good. Fries with feta and cheddar cheeses. It may not sound good, but it sure tastes good.
If you're looking for great Greek food in the valley, you've found it at Z'

Feathers and the Feather Runwa

Feathers are one of the epidermal growths that form the distinctive outer covering, or plumage, on birds and some non-avian theropod dinosaurs. They are considered the most complex integumentary structures found in vertebrates,[1][2] and indeed a premier example of a complex evolutionary novelty.[3] They are among the characteristics that distinguish the extantAves from other living groups. Feathers have also been noticed in thoseTheropoda which have been termed feathered dinosaurs. Although feathers cover most parts of the body of birds, they arise only from certain well-defined tracts on the skin. They aid in flight, thermal insulation, waterproofing, and coloration that helps in communication andprotection.[4] A feather boa is a fashion accessory that is usually worn wrapped around the neck like a scarf. Wearing feathers for, fashion. There aren't any ceremonial reasons for trying to look/be like a bird, the feathers are being worn just to look nice. Whether wearing large plumes or trimmings of down feathers, it's all fashionable, in fiction or in Real Life.Common forms are feathers on hand fans, feather boas, plumes on hats, trimming a rich lady's nightgown, trimming Pimped Out Dresses, trimming Sexy Santa Dresses, and trimming sexy lingerie. The latter two also make this trope Fetish Fuel.Common in Costume Porn.A Sister Trope to Pretty in Mink (in that many times feathers are worn in a similar way as fur). Finally, any examples of Peacock Girl, where the feathers are worn instead of a character having a peacock tail, would be examples of this. So when you think of feather fashions think feather fur sexy and peacock. These are some prime examples of some fashion guides that will help you pick out your fun new outfit.....

Ati-Atihan Jan 10 - 19, 2015 Kalibo, Philippines Intertribal Acceptance Ati-Atihan is a story of intertribal acceptance, immigration, and transformation, but in short, it’s the story of the Philippines first real estate deal. In the 13th century, Malay refugees fleeing Borneo were allowed to settle in what is now the town of Kalibo in Aklan, Philippines, by the generous and darker-skinned Ati tribe. To honor their new friends for granting them refuge and territory rights, the emigrant Malay Datu tribe painted their skin with dark pigments and threw a feast for the ages. It wasn’t long until the Ati tribe, starving from a poor harvest, descended from their home in the mountains to enlist the help of the Datus. The people had not forgotten the Ati’s past kindness and returned the favor by feeding them. The Ati expressed their gratitude through song and dance.

Chinese New Year Jan 31 - Feb 14, 2015 Hong Kong, China The annual celebration of Chinese New Year has grown out of this tradition of superstition. For thousands of years since, the Chinese have hung crimsoncolored lanterns to scare away the beast, giving the occasion its iconic color. Especially on the first day of the New Year, loud firecrackers, drums, and cymbals echo through the city, while fireworks and burning bamboo sticks keep the sky ablaze—all to keep the mythical Nian at bay. Chinese New Year - Feasting with Family Chinese New Year is a rejoicing of economic vitality and renewal. The country’s economy has been born out of a rich agricultural tradition, and the Spring festival marks the most auspicious time of year to set the intention for the upcoming planting and harvest. As such, it is also a time for family reunion, where all can come together and face the future with unity and optimism. The time for family is New Year’s Eve, with traditional feasting on sweet soup with dumplings, fish balls, noodles, and fried cakes. If you have friends who are locals, don’t feel shy to ask them if you can join their family dinner. You’ll see lots of little red envelopes passed from the elders to the young ones—gifts for the New Year. After dinner, many visit the fragrant flower markets at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay, or Fa Hui Park in Sham Shui Po in Kowloon. If you’re planning to give presents (a popular thing to do), the chrysanthemum signifies longevity, the peach blossom is associated with luck, and the kumquat trees embody prosperity.

Dinagyang Jan 11 - 28, 2015 Iloilo City, Philippines The Origins Dinagyang is a recent celebration of the Ati-Atihan traditions. It began in 1967 when Reverend Ambrosio Galindez introduced the Iloilo islanders to the power of the image of Santo Niño. The image of the Holy Child was given a proper parade from the airport to town and the rest is history. The festival was first called the Iloilo Ati-Atihan but was later changed to Dinagyang to further distinguish it, but the core values remain. What started out small as a welcome for the image of the Santo Niño steadily grew and adopted traditions from the much larger and more established Ati-Atihan in Kalibo. It really grew when the tourism board stepped in the 70’s a supported the event as a way to build tourism in the region.  The festival took a turn for the fun in 1976 when spectators became participants as they were welcomed to dance side by side in the streets with the tribal dancers.

Dance, Dance Revolution More than anything this festival is about dance, a cathartic and wild release from the routines of daily island life. The costumes are fantastic and otherworldly. This event is colorful beyond your expectations, if you have been to Rio Carnival - you will still be impressed. In its modern incarnation, the main attraction of the festival consists of "tribes", or "tribus", representing the original Ati tribe dance of celebration. Tribe members must darken their skin to mimic the color of the Ati.  Strictly indigenous materials can be used for the costumes which are nothing short of spectacular. Feathers, bones and face paint can make for some intimidating costumes, but these natives are friendly. Dances are tightly choreographed to a wild drumbeat, with no bigger blowout than the Grand Parade.  The Saturday preceding the Ati Parade is a dance celebration, the Kasadyahan Festival, that gives thanks in the form of dance as a tribute to the Creator. It’s colorful and a fitting warm up to Sunday’s epic dance-off and a great start to the weekend.
