How To Shop for the Softest Sheets Whether one settles into a bed for warmth to escape howling winter winds or desires a set of cool, breathable sheets to escape a scorching summer sun, the perfect bed sheets are paramount to a restful night of sleep. While most can be easily persuaded to swing for a more luxurious set of sheets, the labeling and thread count terminology in sheet shopping can be misleading.
Don’t rely merely on the "thread count" factor of a sheet set. Thread count is defined as the number of threads, horizontally and vertically, per square inch of a fabric. Shoppers should realize that there are many factors that affect a sheet’s thread count.
Check the ply of the fabric used in the sheets. The ply of the fabric is used to describe how many threads are wrapped together into one single thread. Singleply fabrics use threads on their own as opposed to double-ply fabrics that are made up of two pieces of thread twisted together. So technically, a thread count of 800 could be made of only 400 double-ply threads or could contain 800 single-ply threads.
If you are looking for a heavier, more durable sheet set, choose fabric with double-ply fabric. Single-ply fabric sheets are going to appear thinner and more delicate.
Recognize the different types of cotton sheets. Egyptian cotton is praised for its breathability and is highly absorbent. Pima cotton, grown in the Southwest United States and in South America, is known to be long lasting and a staple in large households. Organic cotton -- grown without herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers -- will have the mark of United States government-approved certification on the package.
Know the weave you are after. For a silk-like cotton sheet, closely woven percale sheeting is the best option. Flannel cotton sheets, with a twill weave, maintain a raised surface that delivers a fluffy appearance along with an ultra soft and cozy feel. For some stretch in your sheets, the plain-stitch knitted jersey sheet would be your best bet. And for a more luxurious appearance, the sateen weave would be appropriate with its weave construction placing most of the threads on the surface.
Test it out before buying it. Most bedding retailers have some sort of sheet samples in their stores for customers to touch before purchasing them. The perfect set of sheets comes down to two factors: the way they look in your bedroom and how they feel against your skin, so don’t rely on the labeling to tell you how the sheets feel. Give them a feel for yourself. After all, you will be spending around one-third of every day inside of them.
Over Half The States Are Suing Obama For Immigration Actions
WASHINGTON -- More than half of U.S. states are now involved in a lawsuit to stop President Barack Obama's executive actions on immigration, with the addition of Nevada and Tennessee announced Monday by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The 26 states challenging Obama's actions are led by Texas, which filed its lawsuit in December. The lawsuit contends Obama overstepped his constitutional authority in executive actions on immigration that may provide deportation relief and work authorization for up to 5 million people.
Texas To Execute Arnold Prieto Over Screwdriver Attack AUSTIN, Texas, Jan 21 (Reuters) -
Texas on Wednesday executed a 41-year-old man convicted of stabbing three people to death with a screwdriver, including his great-uncle and great-aunt, in a San Antonio home robbery in 1993, a prison officials said.
Arnold Prieto died at 6:31 p.m. CST at the state's prison death chamber in Huntsville after receiving a lethal injection, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said.
He was the 519th person executed in Texas since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976, the most of any state.
"There are no endings, only beginnings. Love y'all, see you soon," he said in his last word, according to the department.

Sarah Palin's Bizarre Iowa Speech Gets Thanks -- From The Democrats
Shortly after declaring that she's "seriously interested" in running for president in 2016, Sarah Palin delivered a confusing speech that was panned by many, even some on the right. Speaking at the Iowa Freedom Summit in Des Moines on Saturday, the former Alaska governor and one-time vice presidential candidate delivered a speech that John Fund of the National Review described as "meandering and often bizarre."
Here's an excerpt: "Things must change for our government. Look at it. It isn’t too big to fail. It’s too big to succeed! It's too big to succeed, so we can afford no retreads or nothing will change with the same people and same policies that got us into the status quo. Another Latin word, status quo, and it stands for, ‘Man, the middle-class everyday Americans are really gettin’ taken for a ride.’ That's status quo, and GOP leaders, by the way, y'know the man can only ride ya when your back is bent. So strengthen it. Then the man can't ride ya, America won't be taken for a ride, because so much is at stake and we can't afford politicians playing games like nothing more is at stake than, oh, maybe just the next standing of theirs in the next election."
House Passes Anti-Abortion Bill On Anniversary Of Roe v. Wade On the 42nd anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark abortion rights decision in Roe v. Wade, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 242-179 to pass a bill that would codify a ban on federal funding for abortions. The bill would prevent women from having their abortions covered by Medicaid; restrict a woman's ability to buy private insurance plans that include abortion coverage; and deny small businesses a tax credit, which they currently receive through the Affordable Care Act, if they include abortion care in their health insurance plans. It would also prevent the District of Columbia from using its own local funds to subsidize abortion care.
Democrats tried to use a procedural move Thursday to sink the bill or send it back to committee. Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) submitted a motion to recommit the bill, asking that it be amended to "prohibit any violation of the medical privacy of a woman regarding her personal choice of health insurance coverage, including victims of rape and incest." But Republicans rejected the motion and passed the bill.
U.S. Contractor Awarded More Than $1 Billion Is Suspended Over 'Serious Misconduct'
WASHINGTON, Jan 26 (Reuters) - The United States said on Monday it had suspended International Relief and Development, a non-profit aid contractor which won major U.S. contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan, after finding "serious misconduct" involving funding.
"The agency's review revealed serious misconduct in IRD's performance, management, internal controls and present responsibility," the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the United States' premier aid agency, said in a statement.
Koch-Backed Network Aims To Spend Nearly $1 Billion On 2016 Elections WASHINGTON, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Conservative political advocacy groups supported by the billionaire Koch brothers plan to spend $889 million in the 2016 U.S. elections, more than double what they raised in 2012, the Washington Post reported on Monday.
The newspaper said the goal was announced to donors at a weekend meeting in Rancho Mirage, California, hosted by Freedom Partners, a business lobby at the center of the Koch brothers' political operation. The Post cited a person who attended the gathering.
Senate Democrats Join GOP Attack On Financial and Environmental Regulation WASHINGTON -- Four Senate Democrats are working with Republicans to help the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other GOP-affiliated lobbying groups undermine financial and environmental regulations. A new bill would significantly change the way government agencies write rules, weighing regulators down with new costs and opening the door to a swarm of legal challenges from corporate interests. Although the legislation would apply to all independent federal regulatory agencies, bank watchdogs have found it particularly alarming in light of Wall Street's ongoing success in overruling new financial standards in court.
"This would create dozens of new requirements that are nearly impossible to carry out," said Marcus Stanley, policy director at Americans for Financial Reform, an advocacy organization

Downtown phoenix has much going on with access available and half the city blocks and most of city cape being shut down, you’ll have plenty to do. It was reporting that the third game of the season would be played at the Phoenix University Stadium in Tempe. For the second season in a row, but only the third time in 21 seasons, the number one seed from each conference will meet in the league championship game. This will also be the first time in a decade that an NFL team will play in consecutive Super Bowl games, with the last such instance in 2004 and 2005, when the Patriots played in Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX, respectively. Super Bowl XLIX will be the Seahawks' second consecutive Super Bowl appearance, having defeated the Denver Broncos 43–8 in Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, while the New England Patriots will be returning for their eighth Super Bowl appearance, and their first since losing 21– 17 to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. With their appearance in Super Bowl XLIX, the New England Patriots will join the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers as one of the three teams that collectively share the record for most all-time Super Bowl appearances, as each has appeared in eight separate Super Bowls to date.
So you can see the excitement has been building for along time and been prepared for as well as the same.

This 70's style stitch is a one of a kind. I like to call it a one size fits all style. This style is very versatile with different looks to match. Knitted fabrics are divided into two basic types: warpknit fabrics such as tricot and weft-knit fabrics such as a handknit sweater. Weft-knit items have the drawback that they runwhen cut. Warp-knit fabrics are often used in lingerie. A polo shirt, also known as a golf shirt and tennis shirt, is a form of shirt with a collar, a placket with typically two or three buttons, and an optional pocket. All three terms may be used interchangeably. Polo shirts are usually made of knitted cloth (rather than woven cloth), usually piqué cotton or, less commonly, silk, merino wool, or synthetic fibers. A dress-length version of the shirt is called a polo dress \ So put the two together and you got the look of home to school to park to mall. Best place to get these simplistic designs is your local golf store. So while checking out the hotties golfie check out the polo t and see for your self.
Yeast is a fungus that normally lives in the vagina in small numbers. A vaginal yeast infection means that too many yeast cells are growing in the vagina . These infections are very common. Although they can bother you a lot, they are not usually serious. And treatment is simple
A healthy vagina has many bacteria and a small number of yeast cells. The most common bacteria, Lactobacillus acidophilus, help keep other organisms—like the yeast—under control. When something happens to change the balance of these organisms, yeast can grow too much and cause symptoms. Taking antibioticssometimes causes this imbalance. The high estrogen levels caused bypregnancy or hormone therapy can also cause it. So can certain health problems, like….
A yeast infection causes itching or soreness in the vagina and sometimes causes pain or burning when you urinate or have sex. Some women also have a thick, clumpy, white discharge that has no odor and looks a little like cottage cheese. diabetes or HIV infection.
If you have had a yeast infection before and can recognize the symptoms, and you aren't pregnant, you can treat yourself at home with medicines you can buy without a prescription. You can use anantifungal cream, or a suppository that you put into your vagina, or antifungal tablets that you swallow. If your symptoms are mild, you may want to wait to see if they clear up on their own. Yeast infections are common during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, don't use medicine for a yeast infection without talking to your doctor first.
The foot and ankle region is a common site for running pain –after all, it's the first point of impact. Elastic, flexible calf muscles can soften the shock down below, helping prevent injuries such as plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis. These stretches are part of the Wharton's Performance Model, a strength and flexibility foundation-building method for runners. Stretch after every run: hold two seconds; repeat 10 times on each leg.
Gastrocnemius (outer calf): Sit with both legs straight. Loop a rope around the ball of one foot and grasp each end of the rope. Flex your foot back toward your ankle, toes toward your knee.
Soleus (inner calf): Sit with one leg straight and the other bent. Grasp the bottom of the foot on the bent leg. Keeping your heel on the ground, pull your foot toward your body as far as you can.
Achilles Tendon (attaches heel to calf): Sit with one leg straight and one bent. Bring your heel close to your buttocks. Keeping your heel on the ground, pull your foot toward your body.
Remember to drink plenty of water and have fun with exercising!
TUESDAY, Jan. 13, 2015 (HealthDay News) -- A woman may have the reputation of turning into a green-eyed monster when her man sleeps with someone else, but new research suggests a man gets even more jealous in the same scenario. In a poll of nearly 64,000 Americans, sexual infidelity was most upsetting to men in heterosexual relationships, said study author David Frederick, an assistant professor of psychology at Chapman University in Orange, Calif. "Men [in heterosexual couples] are more upset by sexual infidelity than women are," he said. "Women are more likely to be upset by emotional infidelity." For the study, Frederick defined sexual infidelity as a partner having sex with another person but not being in love with them. He defined emotional infidelity as a partner falling in love with someone else but not having sex with them.
The men and women in the study, aged 18 to 65, but mostly in their late 30s, answered an online poll in 2007. Participants identified themselves as heterosexual, gay, lesbian or bisexual. All were given a "what if" scenario. They were told to imagine their partner had strayed sexually or strayed emotionally, and to tell if they would be upset. Men in the heterosexual relationships really stood out from all the others, Frederick said, as they were the only group to be more upset by sexual infidelity than emotional betrayal. Frederick said researchers have debated for years whether men and women differ in their reactions to infidelity. Those who think that heterosexual men are most upset by sexual infidelity, as Frederick found, point to an evolutionary root for that rage.
According to that theory, men are more upset by sexual infidelity because they can't be sure a child their partner may later produce is theirs. Women are more upset by emotional infidelity, so the theory goes, because they would fear abandonment and loss of resources if the partner funnels them to the new love. They don't, of course, have to wonder about a child being theirs. In the study, 54 percent of the heterosexual men were most upset by sexual infidelity, but only 35 percent of the heterosexual women were. Among heterosexual women, 65 percent said they would be most upset by emotional infidelity, compared to 46 percent of the heterosexual men. For all other groups, Frederick found, only about 30 percent said sexual infidelity would be most upsetting.
